Celebrating Georgian Independence Day at The Harvard Club, NYC

Honoring Freedom and Friendship: Celebrating Georgian Independence Day at The Harvard Club

Last night, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Georgian Independence Day celebration held at the historic Harvard Club of New York City. The evening was a beautiful testament to the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of the people of Georgia — and a reminder of the global importance of unity, diplomacy, and cultural exchange.

Hosted by the Consulate General of Georgia, the program brought together a distinguished group of diplomats, business leaders, cultural ambassadors, and advocates for international partnership. The atmosphere was both elegant and energetic, filled with warmth, tradition, and pride as we honored Georgia’s path to independence and its continued journey on the world stage.

What stood out to me most was the deep commitment of the Georgian people to preserving their cultural heritage while embracing innovation and collaboration. The speakers, including Consul General Maia Bartaia and Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia, emphasized Georgia's aspirations for peace, progress, and partnership — values that deeply resonate with my own work and mission.

As someone passionate about global leadership, equity, and innovation, it was inspiring to be in the presence of individuals who believe in the power of diplomacy and the potential that emerges when nations and communities come together in solidarity. Whether through economic development, cultural celebration, or strategic alliances, events like this remind us that independence is not just about sovereignty — it’s about shared humanity and the courage to build a better world together.

I left the evening filled with gratitude, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose. Thank you to the Consulate General of Georgia for the invitation and for hosting such a meaningful celebration. Here's to continued collaboration, cultural exchange, and the unbreakable ties that bind us across borders.
